Term 4 Week 2

Last term we went to Northland College to get our eyes tested by One Sight. Four people in Room 15 received their glasses this week.

Che, Zeke, Charlie-Gurl and Jas.
In maths we have been learning to look for numbers which add up to 10. Wyatt proves that he is an expert using a mini whiteboard:

We practiced making predictions and recording results in our paper towel bridge observation:

Here is the result!
We had a great end to the week with 2 blue card prizes and a certificate at Assembly:

Well done Charlie-Gurl, Sean and Che!

Term 4 Week 1

We were proud to win the Class Award this week for looking after the environment around our classroom - picking up rubbish and keeping the scooters tidy. The shield will be on display in our classroom all next week.

Room 9 came to visit us for Buddy Reading and we showed them how we use Sunshine Online to read books and complete literacy activities. We all worked so well together and had a great time.

Term 3 Week 9

We celebrated two birthdays in Room 15 this week. Sky and Jacob both turned 8! Jacob's mum and dad brought in some delicious Minion cupcakes to celebrate with us.

Term 3 Week 8

We had a Duffy role model assembly on Wednesday with author, Maria Gill and all received two Duffy books to take home.
On Thursday we went in a bus to Northland College to get our eyes tested. We were there for a long, long time! Everybody was amazed with how fantastically well-behaved and patient we were. It was worth it because a few of us will be getting our free glasses in about four weeks.
We have been practising counting backwards from any number. Moko shows how it is done, counting back from 47:

Welcome to Room 15

Wow, it has been a busy two weeks moving into our new room. Most of the class have moved from Room 1 but we said goodbye to our 6 Year 2 students and welcomed 6 Year 4 students from Room 4. We also have 1:1 Chromebooks which is hugely exciting!

Our new classroom is very sunny and spacious - a great space for learning. Here is a picture which also shows the stained glass we made with Mrs Miller last week:

On Friday we planted two trees in memory of Michael Makiha. Trinity and Sky baked a beautiful cake. The message says it all....
